About of WFEA
The objective of the WFEA is to serve as a vehicle towards the acceptance of equestrian archery as an Olympic sport by unifying equestrian archers with diverse cultural and historical backgrounds, by harmonizing the evolved styles and by providing professional guidance.
The basis of modern equestrian archery is the original Kassai system of professional training and competition developed by Kassai Lajos, which has been in use for more than three decades and is being actively taught at the university level in Hungary. The WFEA provides access to this system for all those interested, and thereby extends the opportunity for equestrian archers to join the system, track their own development by testing their skills on the unified racecourses and compare their results with those of other equestrian archers around the world.
WFEA is headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, the center of Olympic sports, and is governed by an international body of five executives. The members of the board are active equestrian archers from the United States, South Africa, France, Switzerland and Hungary.
